forming and opportunit belief

1. I believe that there is an opportunity to provide UF students with a more interactive Summer A.

2. Because basically everyone leaves Gainesville for summer A. students who choose to stay for the summer are left with 3 boring months of what seems to be a ghost town. Many of the stores and restaurants change their hours because their is less traffic. this occurs because most students want an immediate break after the semester. so they'd rather take summer B classes instead of just having one week then back to classes. the new freshman also come flood the gates during summer B to start off their college careers. The night life is very mellow and there's nothing really happening on campus to motivate the summer A students to get active!. currently i would say many people try to get out of Gainesville when they can in order to make use of their summer. At this point i am 90% sure that that the problem exists.

3. The typical customer would be a UF student in gainesville right now for summer A classes.

4. https://soundcloud.com/user-867940186/dave

5.  I learned that this is a very real opportunity. i also learned that dave had a lot of similarity in the way i felt about summer A. what was surprising was that Dave still felt such a disconnected and rated his summer a 4 even with friends in town. i thought this showed what a great impact the campus life and vibes can have on students.

6. after speaking with Dave i wouldn't change my opportunity at all. he completely confirmed how i felt about the need and expressed that basically he didn't see an immediate solution to his current problem.  however if Dave had disagreed and stated that his summer was a complete blast. i would have modified my need and tried to talk to a lot more students to find out if they felt the same way. i think the customers opinion is the most important because they're who your trying help so you want to know exactly how they feel and what they're exact needs are.

"School discipline kept from public view Policy hides sex, drug infractions and more," By Annie Martin

this was a very interesting post because it actually took place at the highschool i went to which is very disturbing. i had rumors about the events of this article through former classmates but never got the whole story till now. i wasn't in band class but knew of the instructor. in this article it discusses how the former band director had had various sexual relations and even sexual endeavors on campus with students. other faculty members have admitted and testified of Jennings acts even telling of instances when he was caught. however Jennings the band instructor stays confident that he will be proven innocent.

the problem was that there were many claims made against Jennings before his termination and even teachers who came forward stating they had caught Jennings having sex on school property. however this was never disclosed to the local public.

those affect would be the parents and students who are aimlessly attending these schools unaware of the acts being committed by its faculty till its a headline news story.

"Green card? Pay up: It's American tradition"

the orlando city lions, our beloved soccer team has brought about some controversy with their recent antics. the focus is on them providing a front of the line all access pass to green card for foreign investors to fund their stadium. in hind sight you wouldn't see this as bad because at the end of the day we are granting access to our beautiful country right? wrong. All they are doing is allowing those with the deepest pockets the right to cut every had working immigrant in line and get they're well bought instead of well deserved card.

the problem is that it degrades the process of becoming a citizen for the us. it boils down to what our biggest problem is always focusing on money and only rewarding those have to bank to pay.

i think everyone is affected by this problem not only the countless immigrants who are desperately awaiting their green card and are being unfairly passed up by people with a big check. it also affects the people who support the lions and whether they want to be associated with such behavior. and to citizens who have to think is this what we want out process to look like. surrounded by money.

Students to retake AP exam

during the recent AP exams for the students of orange county there was small discrepancy with big effects. an anonymous tip came in stating that the students were sitting to close to each other which would invalidate their exams. when the college board reviwe the video and photo of the test takingroms they ruled that the students had to retake the test because they appeared to be 4 feet from each other instead of the regulated 5 feet.

the problem is that many of the students because they were under the impression that they were done with school the material has been out of sight out of mind. its been over two weeks and they will be expect to preform just as they did when they took the exam the first time. The results of the exam not only effect highschool transcript but also go on record for their college transcripts retaking exams and not preforming to par because of the lag time could have major negative effects for the students.

the students of the orange county district who are retaking the ap tests are the ones affected and even facilitators who were negligent in making sure the room was following the correct regulations.

Reimburse coalition for voters' sake

the league of women voters of Florida have been fighting for the last five years to get legislators to abide by the fair districts amendments to get partisan politics out. the supreme court granted their fight and we thought all was well.

except when the group asked for reimbursement for the legal costs they endured with countless appeals and trials. the divided supreme court refused. this is awful because the group had fought so hard and won but now theft with a trophy of debt as a reward.

this affect the womensvoters group because they are fighting for funds they are rightly fully owed because they one the petition. it also affects all Florida voters because it discourages them from fighting for they're right to vote because after the decision the government wont have your back.

My Entrepreneurship Story

One of the most significant exposures i've had to Entrepreneurship was my enrollment into the innovation academy. where we are taught free thinking and what creativity and challenging social norms can mean to the business world. i put this to ;practice this just past summer where i competed in the UF summer catalyst showcase. where dozens of groups take a societal problem and come up with a product brand and company to help solve it. My company was called wheel watch. witch was a defense mechanism for your bike against thieves. and in the event that your bike was stolen. it came equipped with a gps tracker to help you and police officials locate the bike. we developed an app to help register the bike and the gps tracking program. along with the bike lock, that contained a trip wire so if the lock was cut an alarm would sound and you would receive a phone notification. the lock also utilized key fob technology for entry so it eliminated picking the lock or desifering the code. My team and i ended up winning the 1st place peoples choice award.

I enrolled in the course to see what other skills and knowledge i can attain from challenging thinkers that will help me be innovative in any work i may set forth to accomplish. this course also brings me 4 credits closer to graduating and fulfilling my dreams.
